"The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy."
Psalm 126:3May 7th we welcomed our precious baby girl into the world at 10:15 am. 6 lbs, 8 oz. and 21 inches long. Labor and delivery went very smoothly. We went in the night before to get the process started, and then the plan was to start the pitocin and break my water first thing Wednesday morning. I started having contractions that morning at 2:30am (we were already in the hospital). They continually increased and by 6 am they were lasting almost a minute and coming pretty closely together. The doctor came in that morning at 7 am and broke my water and I was already 5 cm. This is also the time I got my epidural...and it quickly worked it's magic! The rest of the morning was very calm, thanks to that epidural! They ended up not starting the pitocin since my body was progressing. By 9:15, I was 10 cm. We were shocked at how quickly everything progressed. I was anxious about labor and delivery and there were so many people praying for a quick and easy delivery. Their prayers were answered! We welcomed our baby girl at 10:15 that morning after minimal pushing.
We spent two nights in the hospital and enjoyed a flood of friends and family. Our little peanut is loved so much already!
My mom is in town with us, and Fletcher's mom has been helping us too. It is such a blessing to have the help of our moms as we adjust to a "new normal" and figure out this new chapter.
