Nephew #3

We had the joy of welcoming nephew #3 into the world this past Thursday. For the first time we were in the same city as the new baby and got to go to the hospital, it was so fun! My sister is a champ! Mom and baby are both doing great and we are enjoying soaking up time with sweet Curtis.
We were all eagerly waiting to meet little brother!

 Blowing little brother a kiss.
Welcome to the world Curtis! We love you so much already!

Perry Wedding

This weekend we traveled to Nashville to celebrate the wedding of Leah and Allen. Leah and Allen have such a sweet story, and their wedding was definitely a celebration of God's faithfulness. It was a great weekend of getting to see friends and celebrating Leah and Allen.
Always love getting to see Banan!
These two are next!
 World's best wedding date.

Not too much longer for these two. Love getting to spend time with Lacey and Sam.
Dancing with the Father of the Bride. Such a happy day!
The new Mr. and Mrs. Perry.
Congratulations Allen and Leah! We are so excited for you as you begin this new chapter of your lives!

Showering Ab & Curtis

This weekend we got to celebrate the upcoming arrival of nephew #3. He is set to make his debut at the end of the month, and we are all so ready to meet him. The theme for the shower was "sweet pea" and the hostesses did such a great job! We enjoyed some delicious brunch food, played games, and then Ab loaded up on goodies.

I don't know how quickly you go through diapers, but it seems to me that Ab received a lifetime's supply!
Ab with all her sweet church friends.

Ab is one of the smallest pregnant people. You would never guess she is due in 3 weeks!

This & That

This week we got to celebrate my sister's birthday. I love birthdays! It is so fun to be in the same city and get to celebrate birthdays together.

These two are bff. Most adults who come into our house comment about how big LuLu is, but he doesn't seem to notice. They could chase each other around for hours. And when one decides to lay down and rest, the other one decides to take a rest too.
I've been listening to this cd on repeat. I probably listen to the whole cd 3-4 times a day. I don't think I will ever get tired of it. They are touring with Needtobreathe this spring! I'm going to miss their concert, but it has potential to be the best concert ever.

I made this hand scrub for my sister's birthday. It is super easy and smells realllllllly good. Another plus- it took about 3 minutes to make!
I feel like this statement makes me officially old...but I am really looking forward to springing forward on Sunday. I can't wait for the sun to be out a little longer every afternoon.
Have you noticed the new Threshold line at Target? I love the mirrors, the plates, the baskets, and pretty much everything if I'm being honest. I have been eyeing this ottoman in particular. I think a pair of these would be the perfect addition to our living room.

TGIF. Weekends always seem to go by too quickly...this weekend is going to involve some R&R and I plan to soak it up.

Screamy Chicken + A Book Review

My sister introduced me to this recipe and it quickly became a favorite at our house. We always enjoy the meal and polish off the left overs (that is saying something!). My brother-in-law named it "Screamy Chicken" after not being able to remember the long recipe name that said something about "creamy chicken". I never knew it's real name, and we just fondly refer to it as "screamy chicken".
First, I saute the fresh mushrooms in a little olive oil, then set them aside. Next, sprinkle the chicken breasts with salt and pepper and cook in the skillet (3-5 minutes each side). Set the chicken aside, reserving drippings in skillet. Mix together cream of mushroom soup, cream cheese, white wine, and Italian seasoning packet over medium heat in the skillet. Place cooked chicken in the crock pot, top with mushrooms, and cover with the sauce. Cook on low for 4 hours.

Screamy Chicken
2 lbs. chicken
2 tsp. seasoned salt
2 Tbsp. canola oil
1 can reduced fat cream of mushroom soup
8 oz. cream cheese
1/2 cup dry white wine
1 (7oz.) envelope Italian dressing mix
1 package fresh mushrooms

Y'all this book. The review I read about it said I would need to read it with a box of kleenex, I just didn't realize I would need the whole box. It is about a couple who fell in love even though everyone thought their relationship was destined to fail. Each entered marriage with their own major challenges, but they were determined to make their marriage work. Saturday night we were cozied up by the fire, me reading while fletcher worked on our taxes. I did.not.move. for 4 hours. I stayed up until 11:30 to finish this book (typically my eyes don't stay open after 10 pm). I think I cried for 50 pages straight. Fletcher looked over and was so confused. I guess he usually isn't around when I read books that make me cry, because he came over and assured me "This is NOT REAL LIFE." "You have a very happy life" etc...He's not much of a reader and did not understand my sobs tears. This book is heavy and this book is intense. But it sucked me in. I couldn't put it down and now I can't quit thinking about it. I am glad I read it, but Fletcher says I can't recommend a book that made me cry so hard. At least you were warned. This was KA Hancock's debut novel and I am very interested to see what she comes up with next.
