Weekend Recap

This weekend was exactly what this weary girl needed. We have been on the go so much lately and my tank was beginning to feel a little empty. Saturday morning Fletch and I went to a local state park and hiked. The trees are just starting to change and the weather was perfect! Never underestimate the power of being outside and enjoying God's creation. In this fast paced world, there is nothing like a little time outside.
Saturday afternoon was the second annual Flynn-Cook bonfire. The boys spent the afternoon cutting down trees, chopping wood, and throwing whatever they could find into the giant fire. They loved it.
The nephew man is ready to be old enough to hang out with the guys for the bonfire. For now, he gets to sit inside with the girls and look out the window.
Major tree going down in the front yard. These two were feeling extremely left out.
And the girls favorite part of the bonfire...S'mores. Another bonus of a weekend at home - finally catching up on things around the house. Overall the weekend was a perfect mix of relaxation + fun + productivity. It was good for my soul.

  1. When I saw the first fire picture, I started laughing, even before I read another word . . . of course E wanted to get out there. There's just something about boys and fire. Ask Uncle Garland.
