I can't believe February is half way over. The month has flown by so far and the blog has been somewhat neglected in the busyness. We had to go out of town unexpectledly and the pup got to go spend some time at my sister's house. As sweet as LuLu is she is quite the handful. My sister acted like she was great, but Fletch and I were skeptical. Either way we were so appreciative that my sister and brother in law took care of Lu at the last minute. This is a side note about LuLu that cracks me up. LuLu and Fletcher are two peas in a pod. On Fletcher's off days they go EVERYWHERE together. Every errand Fletcher runs, LuLu goes too.
After we got back in town our nephew came & spent the night so his parents could have a night out to celebrate my brother in law's birthday. It was SO FUN. We love having him come to our house! LuLu always wanted to be right where he was. He cried a little when we put him to bed and she sat outside his door until he quit crying. (Please ignore the disaster in the background of the next picture, our living room is mid-project).
Moving on to Valentine's Day. I decided Married Valentine's Days are the best. Not as much pressure but a fun excuse to have a nice night together. I tend to get caught up in everything that needs to be done when I'm at home, but yesterday I knew that I wasn't going to do anything but spend time with Fletcher, and it was perfect!
I decided last night that I needed to surrender the blog to the husband. He probably wouldn't ever post but that boy can cook! Every time he cooks it is delicious! He made steak, pimento cheese pasta, and salad. And he makes up his own recipes! I saw the pimento cheese pasta recipe and then saw tons of other ingredients on the counter. He starts with a recipe then takes creative liberty after that to make it his own. I am such a rule follower that I pretty much stick to the recipe. But his creations always end up way yummier!
Dinner was so delicious I barely had room for dessert. But when I saw dessert come to the table I knew I had to make some room. He baked brownies in a ramekin, then topped it with vanilla ice cream and a red wine chocolate sauce with strawberries. I would have never just made a sauce up like that on a whim. I was making chocolate covered strawberries and he kept coming over and taking strawberries and chocolate, then before I knew it he had created a delicious sauce for the ice cream!
Valentine's may be a little bit of a silly holiday but I still like it! I am thankful to have such a sweet boy to love and am increasingly grateful for how well he loves me. Hope to be back soon with some of our home projects. We have two sets of visitors coming in the next few days, so the house projects might take a back seat but we will be back before too long!
