The Exterior

Our first major project for the house was to paint the exterior. It was a little sad to see the yellow go, just because for months when we were looking at the house we would always fondly refer to it as "the yellow house". But we knew that painting was the first thing we wanted to do! It took about 2 weeks, but it was fun during that time because every day when I came home from work the house looked different! It was fun to see it change, and we are loving the new colors. We painted the exterior, replaced half the windows, replaced some of the shutters, painted the shutters, took off the screen door, purchased blinds, replaced the outdoor lighting with new lanterns, and added some pine straw. Here is how it went...

And then the finished product...

Here are the colors we used. House: Benjamin Moore-Feather Down; Shutters: Benjamin Moore-Kingsport Gray, Front Door: Sherwin Williams-Urbane Bronze. We also used the Urbane Bronze for the garage doors and the exterior of the sunroom.

We are excited to have the first major project finished and now we are turning our attention to the interior! Our list of projects and ideas seems to be growing daily, so it is easy to get overwhelmed! But we are trying to just take it one thing at a time!
