Sushi, Sips, & Strokes

For my birthday dinner we went and ate sushi...YUM...

After dinner we went to Sips 'N Strokes. Every night of the week they have a different topic or subject to paint. The paintings range from auburn tigers to flowers to van gogh look a likes. Last night's subject was a cross. The way it works is you pay and you get a canvas and paint, and then someone leads you with step by step instructions for how to paint. The "sips" is because you can bring your own wine to "sip" while you paint. So below is pictured last night's painting. This was up at the front for us to see and then the lady led us in the steps.

In the beginning we were very good at following directions...

However, in time as our crosses began to look less and less like the picture, we began to do our own thing. Please notice how Sarah is next to Anna, still following the painting at the front. Anna was the first to jump ship...

But in the end we were happy that we had changed it up. Sarah's really did look good, but since ours quit looking like the model, we were glad we did our own thing.

  1. If a picture is worth a thousand words, then the first one captures this moment perfectly...it was DELICIOUS!

  2. I REALLY want to do sips and strokes! What a fun thing for your bday!

  3. this makes me sad!!!! i miss you!!
