Molten Chocolate Cakes

First of all, these cute towels were a gift from my mom, since the BH loves to have festive things according to what season it is, so now we are in the Valentines spirit. I also got a new cake pan that is miniature little hearts. This has been a slow weekend in Auburn, so Lace and I decided it was the perfect weekend to make something using the new pan. And I wanted to try to make little chocolate molten cakes, so the new pan seemed to be the perfect fit.

First we greased the bottoms and sides of the pans with shortening, and sprinkled it with unsweetened cocoa. Then, in a saucepan we melted the semi-sweet chocolate chips and the margarine.

Then, in a large bowl we whisked the egg yolks and eggs. Next we beat in the powdered sugar, then the flour.

Lastly, we beat in the melted sugar, and divided the batter evenly among the hearts.

Next, they went in the oven for 12 minutes at 450...This did not work out! The poor little hearts were burned. The inside tasted good, but the edges were burned.

So we tried again, with some slight adjustments. I turned the oven down to 425, and only baked them for 9 minutes...And much to our excitement round 2 was a success! They turned out very yummy! I sprinkled them with powdered sugar and they were good to go!
